About Kensington Palace

Kensington Palace sits at the heart of Kensington Gardens and has been home to young royals for over 300 years. Birthplace of Queen Victoria, former home of Princess Diana, and current London residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales, it is one of the most storied royal palaces in Britain. And unlike many heritage sites, it genuinely works for families: the exhibitions are immersive, the gardens are free to roam, and children under 16 get in for half the adult price.

  • Walk in the Footsteps of Royalty

Kensington Palace has been home to young royals for over 300 years. Queen Victoria was born here in 1819 and became queen at just 18, ruling for 63 years. It is the current London residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales, and has been home to some of the most famous figures in royal history, including Princess Diana. History feels genuinely close here.

  • Explore Three Exhibitions Included in Your Ticket

Right now, your admission covers three distinct exhibitions. The Last Princesses of Punjab (until 8 November 2026) explores the life of Punjabi princess and suffragette Sophia Duleep Singh and five women connected to her story. Power, Perfume and Scandal dives into the palace's scandalous 18th-century social scene. And Victoria: A Royal Childhood takes you into the rooms where the future queen grew up, complete with her childhood dollhouse and personal scrapbooks.

  • Discover the King's State Apartments and the Jewel Room

The King's State Apartments were used for royal audiences and are filled with spectacular sculptures and art collections, including the terracotta busts of George II and Queen Caroline. The Jewel Room displays gems commissioned for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert. And the palace's extraordinary light installation, made from nearly 12,000 Swarovski crystals and almost 4 km of electroluminescent wire, is not to be missed.
