Due to the phenomenal growth in motorsport since Lewis Hamilton arrived on the Formula 1 scene, Karting North East has built its own junior paddock circuit designed specifically for 8 to 16 years olds.

It's the perfect introduction for children into karting and superb in terms of building confidence and safety awareness. They have a separate briefing room which is ideal for childrens' parties with the briefing room overlooking the junior circuit making it also ideal for parents to spectate.

The first visit for juniors from 8 years old is for an induction session on our junior paddock circuit. Safety is always their main concern so teaching young people at the right pace is vital. The instructor runs through a detailed safety briefing before the children are seated into karts, making sure they're comfortable and familiar with the controls. Initially they drive the circuit following the instructor who is demonstrating driving lines and braking points. Once this is finished we summarise all the important points before allowing then back onto the circuit where they can practice what they've learned. Inductions can be held for both individuals and groups and parents and friends are welcome to spectate.
