Ickworth House Park and Gardens

"what are we doing today?"

Ickworth House, Park and Gardens have 1800 acres of parkland just waiting to be explored.

Why not get a tracker pack from the visitor’s centre, full of everything you need to hunt for mini beasts and discover what nature makes its home at Ickworth, from deer to bats, badgers to invertebrate. With over 20 miles of walks, ranging from short walks through our activity Trim Trail to long walks for adventurous families, there’s plenty to explore at Ickworth. Ickworth also has a fantastic children’s adventure playground, a truly superb Willow Maze and a large family picnic area, with a refreshments kiosk offering hot and cold drinks, ice creams and cakes.

Make your way up to the house and visit the West Wing visitors centre, here you will find our great gift shop with lots for the children to spend their pocket money on, from games and books to souvenirs and fluffy toys. Also in the West Wing is our bright and spacious restaurant, with a delicious menu for children and grown ups alike. While you’re in the West Wing, why not pick up one of our excellent children’s trails? Our Ickworth Park and Walled Garden Family Trail will take children on a voyage of discovery as they learn about the nature and history of Ickworth. The House Trail then invites children to become ghost hunters and explore the rooms and collections.

Throughout the year Ickworth has a packed and exciting programme of events for all the family. From fantastic Easter Trails on Sunday 12 and Monday 13 April, to Ickworth’s Medieval Spectacular; an action packed weekend of medieval splendour, with over 150 top medievalists.
