Hull and East Riding Museum
Bring the kids and see 235 million years of history brought to life from majestic mammoths to scary Saxon invaders! All visitors to the Hull and East Riding Museum of archaeology can anticipate a fun experience that is unique, educational and memorable.
Kids will particularly love the full-sized whale skeleton and terrific models of ships!
You can also walk through a realistic Iron Age village, then enter a Roman bath house and study their stunning mosaics. You'll discover a mysterious crew of wooden warriors and if you're sneaky, see their horde of Viking treasure! It's a brilliant way to boost any relevant history work they're doing at school.
If the kids love to touch real fossils they're quids-in here, plus they can learn all about the weird creatures that once swam in the warm seas covering the area during the Jurassic period! And who wouldn't want to see a full-sized model of a woolly mammoth? Or the spooky remains of a collection of exotic extinct animals? These are just a few of the artefacts on display at Hull and East Riding Museum and serve to remind us that the region has endured differing extremes of climate over it's last few millennia! Firmly educational but super interesting too!
Discover the long lost whaler’s craft of Scrimshaw and stunning artefacts from Hull's whaling, fishing and merchant trade too.
