Howletts Wild Animal Park
The Aspinall Foundation's Howletts Wild Animal Park in Kent is a family day out where education, conservation and fun combine.
Set in over 100 acres of beautiful ancient parkland, Howletts is home to some of the worlds most rare and endangered animals, including the biggest captive group of Western Lowland gorillas in the world, snow leopards, Iberian wolves and black rhino. Howletts, with its sister park Port Lympne, was set up by the late John Aspinall as a centre of excellence for animal husbandry. Its lasting aim has been to protect and breed threatened species, with a view to returning them to the wild wherever possible. Visitors can walk among the resident family of lively lemurs at Walking with Lemurs, have unforgettable close encounters at the glass fronted tiger enclosures or marvel at the largest herd of African elephants in the UK. The Aspinall Foundation and its work at the Kent Parks and overseas is funded solely by charitable donations.
There are picnic areas all around the park and tasty hot and cold dishes available in our Pavilion Restaurant. Don't miss our fantastic Pizzeria. Kiosks open in peak periods.
Vegetarian options are always available.
Souvenirs, ornaments, jewellery, adults & childs clothing, books and cuddly toys are available from our gift shops.
Toilets, disabled toilets and baby changing facilities are all available throughout the Park.
Milk warming facilities available.
Howletts is located at Bekesbourne and is signposted "Bridge exit" off the A2, three miles south of Canterbury in Kent. Free parking. One and a half hours from London Victoria to Bekesbourne station, followed by a 30 minute walk. Please note there is no footpath.

We've just come back from a lovely trip to howletts wild animal park with our three children. We saw lots of animals from deers, lions, badgers, gorillas, elephants, tigers, wolves, monkeys, and more.
We stoped in 3 different gift shops and the children loved the play area we took are own lunch but you could buy tea, coffee, hot dogs pizzas, burgers and more, children can have there face painted as well.
We found the entrance price good for park and there was also things to watch through the day like the animals having there feed.
Everyone of us loved the day out and would go again
