Go Ape is a tree top adventure based in the heart of Grizedale Forest, nr Hawkshead.

We take one lush, green forest and a healthy dollop of breathtaking scenery; blend with a smattering of tree-top high wires, tricky crossings and wind-in-your-face zip wires; finished off with a liberal dose of people in search of their inner Tarzan. The result is spectacular. The Go Ape experience gets the adrenalin pumping, gets people out of their comfort zones and above all (no pun intended), it's just great fun. The licensed cafe at Grizedale offers a wide range of tempting home made foods using high quality local ingredients.

The menu ranges from generous breakfast buns to delicious cakes and tray bakes.

There are also several picnic areas on site.

Toilets, including disabled toilets are available.

Go Ape Grizedale is a mile north of the village of Satterthwaite. Car parking is available at the Kennels Road car park 300m North of the cabin and at the new car park 300m to the South.

Wear something you don't mind getting grubby and dress for the weather.

Why not combine your trip to Go Ape with a walk through the forest.

Look out for the many sculptures along the routes.

There are ones you can try and get a tune out of yourself, but listen out for the sound pieces along the way as well.

The cafe and visitor centre are accessible to wheelchair users. Disabled toilets are also available.
