Finlaystone Country Estate

"what are we doing today?"

Finlaystone Country Estate
There are approximately 140 acres of woodlands at Finlaystone, including trees which are estimated to be well over 400 years old.

The woodland plays host to a wide variety of wildlife including roe deer, fox, grey squirrel, stoat, three species of bat and a large colony of herons, making it a wonderful place to simply explore.

The woodland floor has a fantastic display of fungi and flora including species such as primrose, wood sorrel, wood anemone, wild garlic and dog’s mercury, all of which are indicative of ancient or long established woodland. Follow the changing seasons and seek out snow trails and snowdrops in winter, bluebells in spring, wildflowers and pond life during summer and a vast array of colourful berries and leaves in autumn.

There are seven play area scattered about, forts, towers, wig wams, a pirate ship, swings, climbing frames and something called a flying fox?
