Attraction Information

Ferne Animal Sanctuary is set within 72 acres of beautiful & protected countryside, in the Blackdown Hills on the Devon/Somerset border. This charitable sanctuary takes in unwanted, abandoned and neglected animals and gives them a wonderful life either at the sanctuary or by finding them a special forever home.

Things to do
Ferne Animal Sanctuary is an almost unique working animal sanctuary, founded in 1939, at the breakout of WW2, where care was given to pets whose owners were going to war, or otherwise displaced by the conflict.

Why not learn more about animal welfare whilst seeing the animals enjoying their own habitat, or simply gaze across the hills and enjoy the fantastic Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is the Blackdown Hills?

Food & Drink
There are trails, activities and events throughout the year. They also have a lovely café serving home-cooked food and a gift shop to tempt you!
