At the Family Friendly Orienteering Course see elegant brick bridges, a steep staircase of locks, the old canal company stables, lock keeper's cottage and the remains of a gigantic boat lift.

Meet characters from Foxton's past and hear about the real Foxton, once a place of daily toil for working boat families; a place where great engineering minds and hard working hands have transformed the landscape.

It's not all heritage that remains here, there's flourishing wildlife, beautiful countryside views, boat trips, interactive interpretation, picnic areas, education trails and places to eat, drink and toilets

There are two toilet blocks on the site located in each of the car parks. Both have disabled access and baby changing facilities.

From the M1, take the A4304 east towards Market Harborough. After 12 miles, in the village of Lubenham, turn left following the brown signs to Foxton Locks. From Leicester, take the A6 towards Market Harborough. At the roundabout with the B6047, turn right towards the town centre. Take the next right, clearly signposted Foxton Locks. Continue along the road and turn left again to reach the car park entrance. From Market Harborough, take the B6047 towards Leicester and turn left after two miles, clearly signposted Foxton Locks. Continue along the road and turn left again to reach the car park entrance. From Kettering, take the A6 north, continuing along the Market Harborough bypass, until you reach the roundabout with the B6047. Turn left here. Take the next right, clearly signposted Foxton Locks. Continue along the road and turn left again to reach the car park entrance
