Attraction Information
Duff House was designed by a well known Scottish architect and although it only took five years to build, the interior took over 100 years to complete!
It started as the Duff family home, then became a hotel, a sanitarium, then during the second World War, it was a military base and then a POW camp.
The house is full of amazing works of art, in permanent and temporary exhibitions, some of which are famous, others brilliant to look at.
There are free quizzes to help you spot unusual and hidden objects around the house. If you look carefully, you will see all types of animals, some real, some fantastical, many of which are made from different materials and used as decoration. Themed family events are held during the year and there is a play area and an assault course in the grounds.
The estate is surrounded by coast, parkland and river and is a great place to take a walk and see the wildlife, a gothic mausoleum and an ice house.
