The Dean Forest Railway not only has steam & diesel trains – with their unique appeal to kids - but also a free museum, café and gift shop.

There is a childrens’ Park near Lydney Town Station and a lake plus park near St Mary’s Halt.

Bikes can be brought on the train free of charge – there are cycle-ways in the forest.

We stock a large range of Thomas the Tank Engine toys, railway books and videos plus gifts suitable for all the family. A mail order service is also available.

There are disabled toilets at some stations, and baby changing facilities at Norchard Station

We do not sell baby food but ask at the café about milk-warming.

From the A48 at Lydney, take the B4234 for 1 mile to the free car park at Norchard Station. Within easy reach of M4, M48, M5 & M50. Interchange at Lydney main line station for trains from Gloucester or Newport (allow 10 minutes walk).
