There are over 200 animals at Dartmoor Zoological Park: from tiny stick insects to Ben our Brown Bear or Josie our Lion, all set in over 30 acres of beautiful parkland.

We are open daily from 10am all year round. It is a wonderful place to bring children. Come and see the animals and enjoy new our new restaurant with far reaching views, and delicious healthy food.

We do strongly suggest you contact Dartmoor Zoological Park before you set off on your family day out, just to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices, as there is nothing worse than disappointed kids in the back of your car after a long journey.
2016 Opening Details:
Dartmoor Zoo is open 364 days a year, from 10am to 4pm in the winter months (from November 1st) and 10am to 6pm in the summer (March to October). Last entry is 1 hour 15 mins before closing. We are closed on Christmas Day.
We have a full and varied menu, consisting of delicious home made hot dishes, light bites and snacks. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available. Ice creams and drinks are also in plentiful supply.
Our main meal dishes are home made with only natural ingredients and spices. We have plenty of options for those on a diet!

We have two seperate toilet facilities on site, as well as disabled toilets.

From the A38, take the Plympton Dark Lane junction and follow the signs for 'Wildlife Park' and 'Zoo'. If you get lost, give us a call!

Guide dogs: Unfortunately, due to animal welfare considerations; we are unable to allow guide dogs at the zoo. The enclosures are close to footpaths and public areas, therefore guide dogs may cause considerable stress to the animals.
