Danes Dyke Beach

"what are we doing today?"

Danes Dyke Beach

There's a bridle path where you can ride horses, which are available for local hire, and a beacon light tower which is the only known example in England.

There is a great nature reserve at Flamborough.
The beach itself is stony and naturally chalky, offering a veritable treasure chest for fossil hunters, but it is recommended that children stay away from the cliff because of falling rocks.
Getting to the beach is easy as there's a car park with toilets just above the entrance, however it's well worth checking the tide tables before you go as high tide reaches the clifftops! There is no swimming advised and as such no lifeguard cover.
