But how to be sure you'll see all that there is to see? By challenging you to find the answers to a series of exceptional clues along the way! Look up, look down, look every which way, guaranteeing you won't miss anything of interest, whilst creating intrigue and fun for all the family.
How to be sure you'll sense what makes a town tick? By adding simple and straightforward stories about significant sights along the way.
We have created two unique Walks in Warwick, which can be enjoyed separately, or joined together to form one longer walk, depending upon available time and energy! They will expand your knowledge, entertain and challenge you, and help you to stay mentally and physically fit!
The Town
Warwick is steeped in history, with many important medieval buildings pre-dating the Great Fire of 1694.
Elsewhere are a number of buildings rebuilt in the elegant style of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. This route weaves its way around all this history and architecture and reveals the personality of a quintessential English town.
Park and River
Warwick stands on the banks of the beautiful River Avon. This walk takes you first to an impressive church and its grounds, before entering the very English St Nicholas Park, with its extensive play area and riverside location. In the distance are the impressive buildings of Warwick School, and from the bridge where your walk concludes, stunning views of Warwick Castle.
Have fun and stay curious!
Curious About Warwick passes a large number of pubs, bars, restaurants, shops and cafés. There is a licensed café in the park, where you can get hot and cold drinks, food and ice creams.
There are public toilets available along the route.
Curious About Warwick starts at the Jury Street side of Eastgate, in the centre of the town. There is a large public car park nearby, next to St Nicholas park.
Buggies, prams and wheelchairs can negotiate their way safely around Curious About Warwick. There are 5 steps at one point which can be bypassed if necessary. It's outdoors, so look out for the weather forecast, but there are plenty of great places to dive into, if you need some shelter!
If you've had fun on your family day out to Curious About Warwick, tell us about it your visit, so other people will know it's a great place to go as well.
