Craggy Island Climbing and Caving Centre is one of the largest indoor bouldering centres in the country, and one of the best too! Bouldering is low level climbing without ropes on different routes set from easy to impossible.

We have 100s of different graded problems for you to try on all kinds of angles and steepness of wall using a huge selection of climbing holds.

If you are an experienced adult climber you can use the facilities on your own or take advantage of our family entrance deals.

Caving! If climbing is not your thing then have a go in our fantastic caves. Crawl through over 50 meters of twists and turns in a safe environment. Different tunnels will lead you through cracks and down shafts and into interconnecting chambers. On the way there will be light and dark areas, fossil bones and cave paintings to find and tight squeezes aplenty. There is even a secret ball pit!

We designed this Adventure Room for children but adults can't seem to stay away from it. Pot holing has never been this much fun!

We also run introduction courses, kids' clubs, coaching and techniques, social sessions, ladies' sessions and loads more.

All sessions and courses need to be pre-booked and our helpful reception staff will be delighted to talk you through what is on offer and how to book in.

Craggy Island has drink and snack vending machines. There are a cafe bar and a restaurant a few steps away in the adjacent golf club serving great food and open most hours and days.

Craggy Island Sutton is only 7 miles from J8 of the M25and only 2.5 miles from the centre of Sutton. From the South we are just off the A2022 Banstead to Purley road. At the double mini roundabout on the A2022 turn North onto the B278 Woodmansterne Road heading in the direction of Carshalton. We are a little way up on the left at The Oaks Sports Centre and golf course. Turn left into the centre and Craggy Island is the building to the left of the golf clubhouse. From the North we are off the A323 Sutton to Croydon road at Carshalton. Take the B278 South, past Carshalton Beeches train station on your left and lookout for The Oaks Sports Centre and golf course sign posted on your right. Turn right into the centre and Craggy Island is the building to the left of the golf clubhouse. By bus
The S4 bus route (Rose Hill, Sutton, Belmont, Carshalton, Roundshaw) briefly runs along Woodmansterne Road close to the centre. By train
The nearest train stations are: Belmont 1.9 miles
Carshalton Beeches 1.2 miles
Woodmansterne 2.9 miles.

Always book in advance to avoid disappointment. Parents can sit out a session overlooking the climbing arena or pop next door to the bar and cafe. Parents can also book into some sessions and climb as a family. Parties are popular! Please book well in advance. Don't forget there is another Craggy in Guildford for high rope Indoor Climbing. There is disabled access to the building. But please contact the centre manager for more information on disabled use of our climbing equipment.
