Coniston Treasure Trail

"what are we doing today?"

Coniston Treasure Trail is a treasure hunt that will have children competing to solve clues without even realising that they are learning about the area and getting some exercise!

The answers to the clues are located on existing monuments, buildings and structures.

Some clues are easier to find, others a little trickier! You can choose to solve a mystery, go on a treasure hunt or crack the code to save the world on a spy mission.

After you have completed the Trail you can Enter your answer online to be in with a chance of winning a cash prize.

"i'm hungry"

There are no refreshment facilities on the route. There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs in Coniston village, a delightful Lakeland setting.

"i need a wee"

There are no public toilets on this Trail.

"are we there yet?"

The Trail starts Shepherds Bridge Lane. If coming from the South follow the A593 through the village, turn right at a small crossroads, where you will see a sign for parking. The car park is in the Coniston Sports Club car park. There is a charge. The Trail starts at the footpath sign opposite the school.

...got any top tips?

Trails take around two hours to complete and can be downloaded and printed at home ordered as a booklet to be posted from the Treasure Trail website. Going on holiday? Why not order a couple of Trails before you go? You will discover a lot more of cumbria. Many of our Trails are suitable for wheelchairs, however the Coniston Trail is almost entirely on footpaths with some uneven stretches, and this makes it unsuitable for pushchairs as well.
