The St Colman's at Cobh Cathedral offers grand territory for worship or exploration, with ancient artwork and features of interest for all ages.
It's a mysterious feeling and atmospheric environment that kids generally really enjoy. And you needn't be of any particular denomination to enjoy the fabulous architecture and artistic features that are here to be discovered.
Visitors are welcome around the hours of mass. The Diocese values and encourages the participation of children and young people in all parish liturgies and and in all activities so the kids are more than welcome so long as they're being at least moderately respectful!
This is a relatively self propelled exploration, with less of the major clues of tourism than the more major cathedrals have. However it's particularly pleasant with younger children and those who find the quiet and milieu intimidating as a practice run for larger scale worship. It's also a charming building in it's own right, of course!

It may be worth checking out Cobh Cathedral's website to see if there are any special events or seasonal fun things to do that may be going on during the day.
We do strongly suggest you contact Cobh Cathedral before you set off on your family day out, just to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices, as there is nothing worse than disappointed kids in the back of your car after a long journey.
