Attraction Information
The City of Norwich Aviation Museum houses an impressive selection of both preserved and mocked up aircraft as well as a fascinating series of well thought out exhibits concerning aviation, it's history and it's socio-economic impact on the region. There are dedicated displays depicting the differing RAF sites around Norfolk so it's a special treat for those with older relatives who were in the military to look up where Grandad was posted, etc.
For kids really into planes, remember to take a camera and sketchbook or notepad to help them get the most from it. It's a great chance to sneak in some secret schooling too: if they take a particular interest why not stop by the library on the way home and learn about it while they're still keen on it!
Special events held here previously include Open Cockpit Days and enthusiast reunions, so keep an eye out for impending specials! They do warn that the car park fills quickly on events days.
Although a pleasant stop it's by no means a full day's worth, so try and add something more active from our local listings to add on to one end of your museum trip: we've got plenty for Norwich, from treasure trails to bowling to skiing!
