Chiddingstone Castle

Stunning Egyptian, Buddhist, Jacobean and Stuart artefacts and magnificent Japanese armour, Samurai Swords and Lacquer are waiting to be discovered in the castle rooms.
There is also a real Victorian Kitchen dating back to 1805 where visitors can enjoy hands on activities.
Throughout the year the Castle hosts themed activity days, when families can enjoy arts and crafts activities, interactive workshops, dressing up, nature trails and much more! Families can also enjoy a variety of activities on non event days such as the Bingo Spotter sheet or learning to write in Hieroglyphics.
The Castle is surrounded by 35 acres of grounds, where children can burn off energy as they explore the woodland, grounds and award winning orangery. There is also a pretty courtyard rose garden and lake to discover.
The Castle's Victorian tea room serves light lunches, delicious cream teas and hot and cold drinks. Visitors can sit inside or outside in the pretty courtyard. Or alternatively enjoy a picnic on the lawns where dogs are also welcome.

Freshly prepared sandwiches to order, specific requirements can be made when ordering.
We sell a variety of castle souvenirs such as mugs, make your own craft items, books and pocket money toys as well as honey preserves, fudge and local produce.
Toilet facilities, with disabled access and baby changing facilities.
We do not sell baby food but we have milk warming facilities, please ask in the tea room.
Directions to Chiddingstone Castle: By Road: From the B2027 follow the signs to Chiddingstone. The castle entrance for cars is located on Hill Hoath Road, a third of a mile from the village of Chiddingstone. For Sat Nav the postcode is TN8 7AD By Rail: The Castle is a 10 minute drive from the mainline train station at Hildenborough (from Charing Cross or London Bridge station the journey time is 30-40 minutes).
