Attraction Information
Built way back in 1140 AD, Castle Rising is a historic gem for your little royals to lose themselves in. It’s a spectacular maze of stone steps and makes for a fantastic play fort.
This is one of the most renowned 12th Century castles in England, and for good reason. In its long history, it's been a hunting lodge, a royal residence and even housed Queen Isabella following her dastardly part in the murder of her husband, Edward II.
Kids can explore the ramparts and search the horizon for enemy hordes. Then when the perimeter is safe, they’ll love tumbling down the grassy moat slope or listening out for the local grasshoppers. It’s also a great spot from which to watch fireworks exploding in the night sky, or watching the sun go down.
