Cadbury World

"what are we doing today?"

Cadbury World in Bournville, Birmingham is choc full of fun for all ages.

That's why half a million chocolate lovers visit each year, discovering the history, the making and the magic of chocolate. With two new fantastic attractions, called Cadbury World Essence and Purple Planet, you will be in chocolate heaven.

Start your journey at Cadbury World with a stroll through our Aztec jungle over boardwalks and waterfalls, in search of the cocoa bean. See the fearsome Emperor Montezuma and find out who was responsible for bringing the secret of chocolate back to Europe.

Visit the themed auditorium, where you will discover the heritage of Cadbury. Their Quaker principles were very important factors in the development of a new and different type of factory and particularly in their approach to the welfare of their workforce.

Everybody loves the story of how liquid chocolate is made, especially when it comes with some very special effects. Here you will learn about the most important ingredients of milk chocolate, and the way Cadbury combines them to create that marvellous Cadbury taste. But be warned, you're in for a few surprises...

Step into the real Cadbury packaging plant and meet 'Flex6' the robot as he brings to life the Cadbury pack & wrap process on our newly installed 3D cinema screen. Whilst regulations do not allow us to take you into the whole factory, you'll take a specially created route that takes you through a section of our moulded factory to see how we wrap some of our famous bars.

Step into one of our Beanmobiles and enjoy a gentle ride through a chocolate wonderland populated by familiar characters as you discover the magic of Cadbury. Great fun for kids, especially the "bigger ones"! One of the Beanmobiles is adapted to take wheelchairs, so everyone can enjoy the ride.

Indulge your senses in our newly refurbished demonstration area as you watch our skilled chocolatiers in action. With lots of hands–on action all the family will enjoy the demonstration of hand tempering. Then get really close to chocolate as you turn your hand to dipping caramel chunks, or writing in chocolate.

Purple Planet is a new state of the art interactive exhibition, where you will experience chocolate like you never have before. See yourself moulded in chocolate, grow your own Cocoa beans and wonder in amazement as it rains chocolate buttons.

In Essence you will discover the secret behind Cadbury Dairy Milk. Then you will have the chance to add your own extra special taste sensations to warm liquid chocolate. From mint chips to jelly babies, the choice is endless as you make-up your unique Cadbury creation.

Finally if you fancy treating yourself to a memento of your visit, you're sure to find something in the World's Biggest Cadbury Shop.
