Attraction Information
The wonders of the Peak gallery allow you to travel through 360 million years of time and to some very special places. Buxton's bear presides over the gallery, but you will find the remains of animals that are 1 million years old and the tools that people used here more than 6,000 years ago.
Meet the Romans, and discover what it is like to live here. Or find out about the objects we look after and go back into the landscape to discover for yourself where they have come from. Their art exhibitions often include work by young people and exploring places that you will want to discover for yourself. The museum is family-friendly with things to do in every gallery, a quiet room for toddlers and their guardians, and lots of help with homework for school-age kids including online resources for Stone Age to Iron Age and for the Romans.
And if you can't visit just now - explore their online resources full of information and things to do.
