Young visitors to the Museum are not forgotten, as quite often it is possible to ride on a miniature train or in a wagon pulled by a steam engine.

Inside you can see how bricks are made by hand, using a brick mould, and you can have a go yourself.

You can see how a steam engine providing the power to run machinery works. Upstairs in the exhibition Hall there are various activities including building with model bricks, word searches, quiz's, colouring, draw your favourite exhibit at the brickworks or build a sculpture using scrap material.

You will find jigsaws, floor games and books to read. These activities can vary from month to month. It gives the adults a chance to sit down and take five! Sorry we are not able to provide a crèche, we do ask that a responsible adult accompanies young visitors at all times, but at least you can have a break. Accompanying the great museum there is also a wildlife garden, a gift shop and cafe. A great family day out.
