Bure Valley Railway
The Bure Valley Railway is a, fifteen inch, narrow gauge steam and diesel railway in North Norfolk which runs from Between the old market town of Aylsham and the Capital of the Broads at Wroxham, a distance of nine miles and takes approximately 45 minutes for a single journey.
There are also smaller stations at Brampton, Buxton, and Coltishall.
Combined train and boat tickets are available which not only include a return train journey beginning from Aylsham, but an hour and a halves cruise afloat around the Norfolk Broads.
At Christmas time we operate our popular Santa Specials. Your Christmas treat starts when you join one of our pre-booked express trains from Wroxham. Every child will receive a special present from Santa himself. (Advanced booking is essential.)
Aylsham Station is the home of our 'Whistlestop Cafe' where you can purchase everything from Hot and cold meals, to light snacks, cakes and refreshments. Wroxham Station sells only light refreshments from a snack / drink machine.
We will always endeavour to accommodate dietary needs when food is ordered in advanced.
Our souvenir shop at Aylsham sells a wide range of gifts and souvenirs for both adult and children. It is also home to "Bure Valley Models" which sells a comprehensive range of major manufactures model railway products. There is also a small souvenir shop at Wroxham which sells a range of gifts and souvenirs
We have full toilet facilities at both our terminus stations which include separate disabled and baby changing rooms
Our staff at Aylsham restaurant will be happy to warm a bottle for you but we do not have facilities for you to heat a bottle yourself.
By Road: Aylsham is situated mid-way between Norwich and Cromer on the A140. The station is sign posted as you approach Aylsham. (NR11 6BW) Wroxham station (NR12 8UU) can be found on Coltishall Road (B1354), close to the town centre. By Rail: Wroxham station is adjacent to the Bittern Line Railway Wroxham / Hoveton station which offers direct services from Norwich, Cromer and Sheringham. For connecting train times, please call National Rail enquiries on (0845) 7484950 By Bus: There are regular bus services which run to both Aylsham and Wroxham.
We advise that during the peak periods of the season, that you arrive and are ready to travel at least 15 minutes prior to train departure time. This will enable all trains to leave on time.

Train and Boat fares are also available Opening Times: For 2011 we Operate trains daily from the 2nd April to 30th October. There are also weekend services in March and November, together with daily services for the local half term services, February 19th to 27th.
Aylsham Station is open daily each day of the year 09:00 to 17:00.
On days our trains operate we open from 09:00 to 17:30.
