Bourne Mill
A delightful piece of late Elizabethan playfulness.
Built for banquets and converted into a mill in the 19th century.
Bourne Mill is set in tranquil grounds next to a millpond and a bubbling stream. The mill is adorned with Elizabethan stepped 'Dutch' gables and still has a working waterwheel, which was originally used for milling flour.
Being a historical building there's no playground etc., but it's visually impressive and worth reminding the kids to pack their sketchbook. Check out our other listings within a short drive of here if you'd like to make a fuller day of it.
Please note the limited opening times.
If you've had fun on your family day out to Bourne Mill, tell us about it your visit, so other people will know it's a great place to go as well.
