Bolton Steam Museum is operated by volunteers from the Northern Mill Engine Society.

Over the past 20 years we have been restoring our old engines. We are now able to run nearly all of them in steam. Our Steaming Days give everyone an opportunity to see these magnificent monsters in action.

Bolton Steam Museum is at the back of Morrison's Atlas Mills Supermarket site on Chorley Old Road (B6226), just past the petrol station. (Note: this is the out-of-town Morrison's, not the one near the town centre.) Unlimited free parking on the supermarket car park. Bus 519 (Johnson Fold) stops at the town centre bus station and at the rail interchange (Stand B). Alight at the Kings Arms on Chorley Old Road.
