Blenheim Palace
Blenheim Palace is set in 2000 acres of beautiful parkland in the middle of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and only 8 miles from Oxford.
It is a World Heritage site and well known as the birthplace of Winston Churchill.
There are two areas to investigate within the Palace. The State Rooms which is the main guided tour of the Palace and 'The Untold Story'; which is a hi-tec self guided tour about the people who have lived here over the last 300 years. A quiz for children is available at the front door or from the website.
Outside the Palace there is 100 acres of formal gardens, 2000 acres of parkland including a forest and a 150 acre lake.
A miniature train runs between the Palace and the Pleasure Gardens, which is a great area for children. Located here is the Marlborough Maze (second largest symbolic hedge maze in the world), an Adventure Playground and a Butterfly House.
Throughout the year there is a great number of exciting events. From jousting and Easter and Halloween events to Horse trials and the Bike Blenheim Palace.
Three cafe's sell a selection of coffees, sandwiches, full hot and cold meals and delicious cakes. Afternoon tea is available from 3pm.
Picnic areas are available throughout the Park.
Delicious home made ice cream from the Palace gift-shop available all year round.
Vegetarian food and other dietry specific dishes are available in the cafes.
A large selection of gifts, books, preserves, wine and goodies available in the 3 gift shops.
Full disabled facilities in the Palace and Park toliets.

Blenheim Palace is situated in Woodstock, eight miles north of Oxford on the A44. It is signposted from j9 of M40 and from the A34.
The no S3 bus runs from Oxford direct to the Palace gates. It is a 10 minute walk from the gates to the Palace.
Trains and buses run regularly to Oxford from London and Birmingham.
The many attractions of Blenheim Palace are both inside and outside so good for any type of weather. There are 3 cafes for tasty food and refreshments.
Picnic tables are also available. It is a large Palace so please expect some walking.
