Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery

"what are we doing today?"

Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery

One of the most notable parts of the collection is the Christian Icons.

The 60 icons form the second largest public collections in the country, after the British Museum.

We've heard that they're very child friendly and have several hands on bits for young kids; this to be confirmed.

The largest collection in the museum is the Local History collection which contains almost 40,000 items such as large architectural pieces, mill machinery, children's toys and photographs. Some of the collection is currently displayed in two galleries; Skill and Labour and Cottontown.

There is also a fine collection of manuscripts, books and coins.
