Birdworld is home to over 1,200 birds and a variety of animals ensuring there is plenty to see and do to make a fun day out for all the family. Spend the day exploring the 26-acre park which includes a farm, children’s playground area, and extensive landscaped gardens. Discover over 200 different species of animals from all over the world including penguins, parrots, flamingos and much more. Throughout the day, enjoy a jam-packed programme of daily talks and watch live animal feeds to learn more about the park’s animals and their habitats. Conservation is at the heart of the park’s offering and visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about how Birdworld is helping to preserve the world’s bird population, through its breeding and conservation projects.
Attractions and Animals The Jenny Wren Farm is one of the most popular areas of the park and is home to a range of farmyard animals including guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs and sheep – promising a whole host of fun for the whole family! Penguin Island and Penguin Beach are both home to two colonies of penguins. Watch them jump and dive for their lunch during daily penguin feeds and you can even take part in a penguin feeding experience! Outback Landing is a walkthrough aviary where you can experience up close the Australian Outback’s most iconic birds. Owl Parliament is a quieter corner of the park dedicated to the most majestic group of birds – owls! You can see distinctive owl species in this exhibit including Snowy Owls and Burrowing Owls.
Food & Drink The Palm Café was recently refurbished and is your one-stop shop for all things food and drink. Serving a selection of sandwiches, snacks and hot food throughout the day, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy here. Costa Coffee is now served throughout Birdworld in The Palm Café and at all kiosks. Kiosks are conveniently located throughout the park for all your snack and refreshment needs.
Birdworld Conservation Birdworld is home to some of the world’s rarest birds and 40% of the species that live at the park are threatened with extinction. Birdworld is a BIAZA accredited zoo, part of a network of zoos across the country that provide high standards of animal welfare, education, research and conservation. Birdworld is helping to preserve the world’s bird population, through its breeding and conservation projects. Birdworld Events Enjoy a varied selection of daily educational talks and live animal feeds throughout your visit. Please note that timings are subject to change and are available seasonally.
