Bewilderwood

"what are we doing today?"

BeWILDerwood is an award winning wild and imaginative outdoor adventure park.

With magical treehouses and hints of intriguing characters, BeWILDerwood brings a curious difference to the Norfolk Broads.

BeWILDerwood is home to enchanting creatures such as Boggles, Twiggles, the Thornyclod Spider and vegetarian Crocklebogs! The setting for the book, "A Boggle at BeWILDerwood", by local children's author Tom Blofeld, gives children the chance to follow in the footsteps of the lead character Swampy, a 2ft Marsh Boggle with a taste for adventure.

Attractions include the Broken Bridge where you have to walk over invisible glass 7 metres above the ground, the Wobbly Wires, a daring zip wire slide and the Slippery Slopes, not for the faint hearted.

No matter how young (or old!) you are, if you're brave enough you can clamber, crawl, climb, slide and swing your way around our mystical world, creating your own adventure. Parents are encouraged to play alongside their children, which makes for a fabulous and brilliantly exciting time for the whole family.

Fantabulous events run throughout the season and we do great birthday parties!

"i'm hungry"

Munch Bar
At the far end of BeWILDerwood you will find the home of yummy, cooked BeWILD food. It's scrummy and mostly homemade, locally sourced and wherever possible organic. And there are lots of places to sit down and enjoy eating it!

Cosy Cabin
In a lovely woodland clearing, with huge colourful sails sheltering you from the sun, enjoy all kinds of delicious BeWILD food, or relax with a luxurious Latte.

"Can I have one of those?"

Bizarre Bazaar
Home of the strange, the wild and the weird, this is the shop to beat all shops. Come in, explore and enjoy. From the tiniest of Twiggle Door treats to the funkiest of fun things, we have something for everyone.

"i need a wee"

Follow the wee signs around the site to find them. We have disabled toilets too!

and baby come too...

We have milk warming facilities at all 3 catering outlets however we currently do not sell baby food.

"are we there yet?"

You can find us on the A1062 between Wroxham and Horning. The number 12A bus runs from Hoveton & Wroxham, right to our door (ask the bus driver nicely) and it's only a 10 minute walk from Horning Staithe.

...got any top tips?

Wear sensible shoes

Long sleeved t-shirts/shirts (better for our long whizzy slides)

We are mostly buggy friendly, especially the cross country ones

We have a large un-shaded car park so it's best to leave your dog at home

If you're local to the area weekends are usually quieter (during the holidays) than weekdays

Visitor Reviews

What can I say, Bewilderwood is absolutely superb. As my wife said, it is somewhere where you can tell the adults have as good a time as the kids!!

No over hyped roller coasters where you have to queue for hours to get on, just old fashioned slides, walks from tree to tree, tree houses, mazes, swings and a boat ride at the entrance.

There are a few things which could be improved upon, but in general a great place to visit with the kids.

The family ticket is for 6 people (one of whom has to be an adult) - so take some friends too

(THEY NO LONGER DO THIS OFFER)
Update 2008 Just come back from our first visit in 2008 and the Bewilderwood people have improved things no end, especially for the smaller visitor

There are now special "Toddlewood" areas for the 4's and under - and special zip wires for them to go down on - which look very safe

Plus looked out for an updated Mildred when you travel in on the boat ride

Update 2010 There is a brand new Tricky Tunnels section - the BROKEN BRIDGE has been extended - and there is a cool new shop - we had another fun day out!
