Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest

"what are we doing today?"

Adventure in a world of trees at Bedgebury National; Pinetum & Forest

If you’re looking for a safe and healthy location for your kids to let off steam, then Bedgebury is the perfect place to visit.

Home to the beautiful National Pinetum and a further 2000 acres of forest, Bedgebury now has an exciting adventure play trail, miles of family cycling routes and a new visitor centre with cycle hire, refreshments and changing facilities.

Do you fancy reliving the adventures of the famous explorers who brought back some of our most exotic trees and shrubs from the far corners of the world? The half mile of specially-designed play area has a plant-hunter theme and incorporates a ship wreck, a native village, a mighty tree house, a butterfly climbing wall, a giant spider and web, a dragonfly slide, tree stump nest tunnels and lots of other forest-related active play. The new pathways and much of the equipment is accessible to children and parents of all abilities. If you like your thrills higher up, there’s a new Go Ape aerial ropes and zip wire course.

Or do you prefer to take your exercise on two wheels? Bedgebury has 10km of freshly surfaced family cycling tracks and, for the daredevils, 12 km of mountain biking through previously uncharted corners of the forest. The cycle shop will offer bikes for sale or hire and repairs.

After all this exertion, why not relax with a gentle walk or picnic amongst the world’s best collection of conifers in the National Pinetum? Or come to the pantry for freshly made snacks and refreshments.
