Beaver Water World - gardens and animal rescue centre, specialising in reptiles.

My husband and I took our five-year-old son to Beaver Water World - and he loved it! This place has to be one of very best value-for-money venues in Kent; only £4 per adult and £3 for children, and it easily included as much to see and do as many of the bigger-name places that charge well over double that price. The highlight of my son's day was being able to actually handle a baby snake for himself, courtesy of the volunteers that regularly attend the centre and are dedicated to providing such an amazing, hands-on experience for visitors. The facilities are somewhat basic; food and drink is available but if you want a proper dining experience you might be better off packing a picnic, and some areas might prove difficult for disabled people to access, but this is because this place is a charitable organisation completely funded by donations and entry fees. They are also continually improving and extending the facilities as they raise funds to do so. All in all, if you want a cheap-as-chips, genuinely good value and fun day out that also supports a worthy and extremely hard-working organisation, then Beaver Water World is definitely one to stick at the top of your list.
