Bamburgh Castle
About Bamburgh Castle
Bamburgh Castle is filled with hundreds of years’ worth of dark tales, rebellion, myths, millionaire benefactors and more. There’s even evidence that people have lived here as far back as 10,000 BC. What more could you want?!
Perched atop a volcanic outcrop, the castle has 14 public areas including the Clock Tower Tea Rooms and several grand State Rooms. Each one is packed with a veritable treasure trove of items to investigate with a guide or audio tour. NB. The State Rooms are not pram accessible so borrow or bring a baby carrier. Hear stories of visitors who’ve heard strange noises over the years, like babies crying or the sound of unseen footsteps... There’s even been word of people being touched by unseen hands. Eek!
