Visit BBC Birmingham's indoor Public Space at The Mailbox and find out about broadcasting at the BBC.
Try your hand at presenting Newsround or the local weather. Have your photo taken with Dr Who's TARDIS and and old Dalek! Play on the CBBC internet and treat yourself in the BBC Shop.
For (grand) parents take a touchscreen-tour of the radio drama studio where The Archers record. Look through the windows into radio studios used by the Asian Network and BBC WM. If all that wasn't enough; take a peek at the Midlands Today studio and the gallery used to choose shots, cue the studio and keep everything on air!

No cafe in the Public Space but plenty of eateries in The Mailbox complex which we're situated in (e.g. Nandos, Pizza Express, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Starbucks etc. Visit mailboxlife.com).
BBC merchandise (DVD's, books, toys, games etc).
There are public toilets in The Mailbox complex which has a baby changing room on level 3. We can offer a disabled toilet inside the Public Space.
Breast feeding is welcomed.
Getting to BBC Birmingham Public Space: Driving: BBC Birmingham is located in The Mailbox, just off Queensway (A38). See below for parking details. Parking: If driving please use The Mailbox public pay-and-park car park. BBC Birmingham is situated on level 7 of The Mailbox. Train: The nearest railway station to The Mailbox is Birmingham New Street. Exit New Street Station from the Victoria Square entrance/exit. Turn left at the exit and walk down Navigation Street following the painted lines on the pavement which will direct you to The Mailbox. This walk should take approximately 5 minutes. Bus: BBC Birmingham is in walking distance from the city centre. There are lots of buses across the West Midlands which go into the city centre. The BBC Public Space is fully accessible with a buggy. Families will happily spend 20-30mins here, so it fits in well with a trip to other city attractions like the Sea Life Centre or the Art Gallery and Museum. During the school holidays there may be other attractions on in the Public Space like Gory Games from CBBC Horrible Histories or RAVEN. The BBC Public Space is fully accessible by wheelchair as there is a large lift to the upstairs.
