Awesome Walls Climbing Liverpool
Awesome Walls Liverpool is situated in St Albans Church.
The church first opened its doors in 1849 and closed them in to worshipers in 1991. The doors were reopened to a new breed of worshipers in 1999.
Over the last 9 years we have continually reinvested in our climbing facility making it what it is today. We have many plans to develop Awesome Walls Liverpool in the near future.
Whether you're an absolute beginner wanting to learn how to climb or an experienced outdoor climber Awesome Walls has lots to offer you. The climbing centre is based in a lofty, one hundred and fifty year old church. You can lead climb to the rafters, or stand watching in the aisles with a cup of tea.
As host to national climbing competitions, such as the BICC we offer a challenge for experienced climbers. Our largest lead wall overhangs by eight metres on a seventeen and a half metre pitch. The shortest walls are four metres high and are found in one of our four top roping areas. They provide a great place to become familiar with the basics of indoor climbing. More experienced climbers looking to hone technique will also find plenty of choice in this section.
We also have a range of bouldering options to choose from. In this section you will find a fully featured resin wall and a wooden overhang with features and bolted holds. Upstairs the bouldering cave has problems to keep everyone busy.
