Aviemore Treasure Trail
Aviemore Treasure Trail
Children love competing to solve the clues in a Treasure Trail and don't even realise they are learning about the area and getting some exercise!
The answers to the clues are located on existing monuments, buildings and structures: some are easy to find, some are a little bit trickier!
You can choose to solve a mystery, go on a treasure hunt or crack the code to foil the baddies’ plans in a spy mission.
After you have completed the Trail you can enter your answer online to be in with a chance of winning a £1000 cash prize!
Aviemore’s circular walking Trail starts at the car park goes over the station’s Railway Bridge, crosses the Spey then heads out towards Rothiemurchus Estate then heads back into the town’s centre for a wee bit more exploring.
The car park is a short walk from Aviemore Railway Station.
The Aviemore Trail is suitable for light pushchairs but regrettably not wheelchairs.
There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs along the Aviemore Trail route giving you lots of choice for eating and drinking.
Toilets are located at the start (and end) of the Trail. (Please note the Trails are circular).
The Aviemore Treasure Trail starts in the main street car park (Grampian Road B9152) next to the Police Station (PH22 1RH).
Treasure Trails take around two hours to complete and can be downloaded and printed at home or ordered as a booklet to be posted from the Treasure Trails website. Regrettably this Trail is not suitable for wheelchair users as a railway bridge is crossed during the Trail. Trails can also be bought from Visit Scotland’s Tourist Information Centre. Going on holiday? Why not order a couple of Trails before you go? You'll have lots of fun and will see a lot more of the local area.
If you've had fun on your family day out to Aviemore Treasure Trail, tell us about it your visit, so other people will know it's a great place to go as well.
