Attraction Information
Step right back in time and discover Scotland’s rural history at Auchindrain Township Open Air Museum, the most complete and well-preserved example of a Scottish Highland farm township.
This is no ordinary museum, there are no glass cases to be seen here! Everything on the site is a part of the museum and you can be a part of the history as you step into the restored longhouses, see the objects of everyday life and learn about the past inhabitants.
As you wander through the magical settlement you’ll find yourself vividly imagining life in the old Highlands. Make sure you keep hold of the guidebook you’re given on arrival, it’s your key to discovering the fascinating, long-vanished Scottish way of life deep in the hills of Argyll.
