Adventure Playground and Farmyard

Get ready for endless outdoor fun at Chatsworth House’s newly reopened woodland adventure playground! Perfect for kids of all ages, this magical play area is set among the trees and packed with exciting features like towers to climb, rope bridges to conquer, slides to zip down, and secret hideouts to discover.

With fresh upgrades, more space, and plenty of challenging features for both toddlers and older children, it’s the ideal spot for kids to burn off energy while parents relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Meet the animals and join craft sessions, animal handling talks and milking parlour demonstrations. From the farmyard, children can take the secret tunnel to the playground for exciting climbing, swinging and water-play adventures.

House

Chatsworth has long been known as a centre for creativity. Discover art and artefacts that span 4,000 years, including paintings, sculpture, textiles, furniture and more. There are more than 25 rooms to explore, including the Painted Hall, Chapel, Sculpture Gallery and State Rooms.

From November, experience the house and garden transformed for Christmas, with decorations and a light trail inspired by a different theme each year.

Garden

Lose yourself in the 105-acre Chatsworth Garden, with modern and historic waterways, a Victorian rock garden, arboretum, grotto, rose garden, kitchen and cutting garden and much, much more.

Cafes and Restaurants

Enjoy fresh, seasonal dishes made with ingredients from Chatsworth and local farmers and suppliers. Try afternoon tea in the Cavendish Restaurant or ice cream sundaes in the Parlour, or salads and stone-baked flatbreads at Chatsworth Kitchen at Peak Village in Rowsley.

Chatsworth Farm Shop and Cafe

Established in 1977, the award-winning Chatsworth Farm Shop at Pilsley sells estate-reared lamb, venison and beef; vegetables, fruit and flowers from the Chatsworth Garden; and a wide range of food, drink and artisan products sourced within a 30-mile radius.

Enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, or barista coffee and homemade cake with far-reaching countryside views at the Chatsworth Farm Shop Café.

Stay On the Estate

Extend your visit and stay in a shepherd's hut, holiday cottage, hotel or inn on the Chatsworth Estate. They are the perfect base to explore all that Derbyshire and the Peak District have to offer.

Accessibility

Manual wheelchairs are welcome in the house and are available to hire, subject to availability, there is also a lift providing access to all floors. Unfortunately, electric mobility scooters cannot be used in the house. There is good wheelchair access to most of the garden, farmyard, shops and restaurants. There is also a lift at the farmyard from the lower yard to the upper yard and playground entrance. Pick up an accessibility map at any of the admission points or visit the website.
