Welsh Mountain Zoo
Colwyn Bay, ConwyAbout Welsh Mountain Zoo
In Colwyn Bay, on the north coast of Wales overlooking the Irish Sea is the Welsh Mountain Zoo.
The National Zoo of Wales is an education and conservation charity, home to a wide range of rare and endangered animals, from brown bears to sea lions, red-faced spiders to snow leopards. The gardens around the zoo are awash with tropical and local plants, such as the Welsh Poppy, providing a diverse backdrop full of colour and life.
For children who want to practice their Tarzan antics, there’s the jungle adventure land suitable for all ages and the Tarzan trail! Stop for a snack on The Safari Restaurant balcony, which overlooks the tiger enclosure or, if you prefer, try The Penguin Café and dine with your flippered friends instead!
