About London Dungeon
London is more than iconic landmarks and Buckingham Palace. For those with a thirst for darkness, the London Dungeon is the perfect place to explore every despicable shadow and unspeakable corner of history - a thrilling, immersive journey through 1,000 years of London's darkest past.
Descend into the infamous London Dungeon and find yourself face to face with the chilling characters of the bad old days. Survive apocalyptic events from history - from the Dark Ages and the Great Plague to the Guy Fawkes Gunpowder Plot, Sweeney Todd and Jack the Ripper. See, hear and (ahem) smell the horror as it comes to life around you.
What's On at London Dungeon
London Dungeon regularly updates its line-up with special events and seasonal experiences. Here's what's happening right now:
Blackout: Ritual (Adults only, 18+)
Selected Fridays, 1 May - 26 June 2026 | 6:30pm - 9:30pm
After dark, the Dungeon transforms into something altogether more sinister. Blackout: Ritual is an adults-only lates experience running on selected Friday evenings - atmospheric horror, live actors, and no children in sight. Perfect for date nights, work socials, or anyone who wants the full scare factor without holding back. This is a completely separate ticketed event from the standard daytime experience and is strictly 18+.
13 Immersive Shows, 20 Live Actors
The London Dungeon brings together an extraordinary cast of theatrical actors, special effects, state-of-the-art theming and 360-degree sets. With 13 interactive shows performed by 20 live actors, you don't just watch the story - you become it.
Talented actors maintain character throughout your two-hour tour, keeping the atmosphere alive even when bombarded with questions from curious visitors. From the torture-loving Executioner and the creepy Plague Doctor to Jack the Ripper, Anne Boleyn and Sweeney Todd, you'll be meeting quite the bunch.
Highlights include:
The Descent - join the resident Lift Jester as you descend into the depths of the Dungeon in this atmospheric lift experience
Jack the Ripper - step into the Ten Bells Pub and come face to face with London's most infamous villain
The Torture Chamber - abandon all hope as you encounter the horrors within
Sweeney Todd - take a seat in the Demon Barber's chair on Fleet Street, if you dare
The Great Plague - walk the plague-ridden streets of medieval London and meet the eerie Plague Doctor
Guy Fawkes - witness the Gunpowder Plot unfold around you
1 Thrilling Ride: Drop Dead
Just when you think you can't scream any more, the Dungeon delivers its one thrilling ride - Drop Dead. Inspired by the Newgate Gallows, you'll feel the full drastic effects of the Long Drop in your body. Fasten your belt, hang on for dear life, and try not to think about what's coming.
The Descent is a separate atmospheric lift experience - not a ride - where the Lift Jester accompanies you downward into the depths of the Dungeon. Both are unmissable, but only one will leave your legs shaking.
VIP Package
Take the experience to the next level with the VIP Package from £50 per adult (£60 walk-up). This includes:
Anytime entry with no time slot constraints - arrive whenever you like on your chosen day
A Digital Photo Pass with unlimited photos sent instantly to your phone
A premium cocktail or mocktail of your choice at the Victorian Tavern at the end of your tour
Escape Room
Think you can outwit the guards? The Escape Room gives groups of up to 6 people 60 minutes to evade capture and escape Guy Fawkes' cell. Priced at £20 per person (£120 per room). Must be booked in advance.
Private Screaming Experience - New for 2026
For groups of 10-35 guests, the brand new Private Screaming Experience (£39.95 per adult) gives you exclusive access to the entire London Dungeon with live scares, private VIP access and an unforgettable group experience. Perfect for birthdays, hen and stag parties, work events or any group that wants the Dungeon to themselves.
Is London Dungeon Worth It?
Yes - and the show count tells you why. Thirteen fully staged, actor-led shows across 1,000 years of history is a genuinely substantial experience. This isn't a walk-through museum with some spooky lighting - it's a two-hour theatrical production you happen to be inside.
The Drop Dead ride, the Sweeney Todd barber chair, and Jack the Ripper's Ten Bells Pub are the standout moments, but the whole thing holds together as a coherent and impressively produced experience. Book online in advance from £27 per adult (saving up to 23% vs walk-up prices) and check the official website for current opening times before you travel.
